Collared mangabey

The collared mangabey is also known as the red-capped mangabey or the white-collared mangabey and belongs to the order primates. It inhabits the swamps and

coastal forests in West and Central Africa and lives in large groups of 10 to 30 individuals. Females as well as males and pubs belonging to the groups.

The collard mangabey primarily feeds on fruits and nuts; but they also eat parts of plants, insects and small animals.

Due to loss of habitat and hunting, the collard mangabey is classified as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
